Before You Choose a Local Title Office
Fort Worth Spans Five Counties, So County Matters
Fort Worth city limits include land in Tarrant, Denton, Parker, Johnson, and Wise counties.
Most of Fort Worth is in Tarrant County, but the city is not limited to Tarrant County. That distinction matters when a seller needs vehicle title or registration services because Texas places most of those services with county tax assessor-collector offices. Confirm the applicable county rather than assuming it from the Fort Worth city name alone.
Tarrant County
Contains most of Fort Worth and is often the relevant local county for title and registration services.
Four Other Counties
Fort Worth also extends into Denton, Parker, Johnson, and Wise counties.
RVs You Can Submit
Class A, Class B, and Class C motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers, campers, and other RVs may be submitted. Clean, older, worn, damaged, and non-running units are within the published scope.
Use the RV’s Real Location
Use the Actual Location, Not Just a DFW Label
Provide the location where the RV is physically stored, whether that is inside Fort Worth or somewhere else in Texas.
Fort Worth city proper, Fort Worth’s extraterritorial jurisdiction, and the larger Dallas-Fort Worth region are not interchangeable. The City of Fort Worth defines its ETJ as land outside city limits where certain municipal regulatory authority can apply through county agreements.
If the RV belongs to a Fort Worth owner but is stored at another residence, storage property, repair location, or elsewhere in Texas, provide that location instead of using “Fort Worth” or “DFW” as a broad substitute. OneRVBuyer publishes statewide Texas coverage, so an RV does not have to sit inside Fort Worth city limits to be submitted.
Texas Title Services Around Fort Worth
Most Title and Registration Work Goes Through the County
Texas county tax assessor-collector offices provide most vehicle title and registration services, including title transfers.
City of Fort Worth government is not the Texas vehicle-title authority.
For sellers in the Tarrant County portion of Fort Worth, the Tarrant County Tax Assessor-Collector provides motor vehicle title and registration services and maintains offices in Fort Worth.
Because Fort Worth also extends into Denton, Parker, Johnson, and Wise counties, Tarrant County should not be assumed for every Fort Worth seller.
The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles administers the statewide framework, while county tax offices provide most routine title and registration services.
Fort Worth Regional Service Center
The Fort Worth TxDMV Regional Service Center lists replacement titles, Texas title-error resolution, Vehicle Transfer Notifications, and title-history inquiries among its public services.
Lost or Destroyed Texas Title
TxDMV provides a Certified Copy of Title process for an eligible recorded owner, lienholder, or authorized agent when a Texas title is lost or destroyed.
For a Texas-titled vehicle that has been sold, TxDMV says a Vehicle Transfer Notification filed within 30 days can help protect the seller if the buyer does not promptly transfer the title. Detailed lien, bonded-title, trailer-title, plate, salvage, and ownership rules should remain state-level material.
From RV Details to Your Decision
How the OneRVBuyer Process Works
Provide the requested RV information, review the offer, and decide whether you want to continue.
Use the RV’s actual location and current condition when you start.
1. Tell OneRVBuyer About the RV
Provide the requested information about the RV, including its current condition, actual location, and relevant ownership details.
2. Review the Offer
After OneRVBuyer receives the information needed for the offer, its published process provides for an offer within 24 hours. Requesting an offer is free, and there is no obligation to accept it.
3. Complete the Transaction if You Accept
After acceptance, OneRVBuyer states that it handles transaction paperwork and coordinates free nationwide pickup or towing. Exact documents can depend on the RV’s ownership and title situation. A fixed nationwide pickup window is not promised. Current published policy also states that there are no seller fees or hidden costs when a sale is completed.
Describe What Actually Happened to the RV
Report Hail, Wind, or Water Damage Only When It Happened
North Texas has documented severe-weather and hot-summer exposure, but local weather history does not prove that a particular RV has damage.
National Weather Service Fort Worth/Dallas says large hail, damaging winds, flooding, and tornadoes occur nearly every year somewhere in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. It also cautions that a specific location is unlikely to experience all of those events every year.
For an RV seller, the important question is what actually affected the unit. If the RV has hail dents, roof or vent damage, broken windows, awning damage, debris impacts, water intrusion, or known flood exposure, describe those issues accurately.
The region also has hot summers. For an RV stored outdoors, report visible roof, seal, exterior, tire, or interior condition rather than assuming heat caused damage. Fort Worth also maintains a floodplain-management program, so mention flooding only if the RV actually experienced floodwater or standing-water exposure.
Hail
Report actual dents, roof damage, vent damage, or other known impact.
Wind or Debris
Describe roof, awning, vent, window, exterior, or debris damage if present.
Water Exposure
Mention known leaks, standing-water exposure, or flood history when it actually occurred.
Long Outdoor Storage
Describe observable roof, seal, exterior, tire, or interior condition rather than assuming heat-related damage.
Actual Condition
North Texas weather history alone does not prove damage. Describe observed condition and known history rather than guessing.
